September is the perfect time for seniors to visit the Newseum!
Save on admission costs with a special discount. For the month of September, the Newseum will offer an exclusive group rate to senior citizens. For groups of 10 or more, seniors age 65 and over will enter the Newseum for only $12 (plus tax).
Don’t miss this low-cost opportunity to visit D.C.’s most newsworthy museum! The Newseum’s seven levels of interactive exhibits explore the story of news, the role of a free press in major events in history and how the core freedoms of the First Amendment — religion, speech, press, assembly and petition — apply to their lives. From having a good laugh at “Seriously Funny: From the Desk of ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,’” to discovering Pulitzer Prize–winning photographs, there is something for everyone at the Newseum. Stay for a few hours or spend the whole day; either way, you can return the next day for free! All tickets are good for two consecutive days.
NewseumED will also be offering a special class for seniors throughout the month of September. Starting Tuesday, Sept. 3, free classes will be held Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. in the Newseum’s Documentary Theater. No registration is required. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
Want to make more informed choices in your everyday life, whether it’s the food you eat, the medicine you take or the candidate you vote for? From combating media bias to defending yourself from trolls, tricksters and propaganda, our free 50-minute class is designed to improve your media literacy skills and help you learn how to authenticate, analyze and evaluate news content. Practice thinking like a journalist and learn how to separate real news from fake news to better understand the content you consume. You will leave with the skills you need to successfully navigate a free press.
Take advantage of this special rate now by contacting the Newseum’s Group Sales at 202/292-6690 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
