ProPublica reporter A.C. Thompson and “Frontline” contributing producer Tony Nguyen talk about their new report investigating the reign of terror that led to the assassination of five Vietnamese American journalists during the 1980s.

The report took Thompson and Nguyen to rural villages in Southeast Asia and across the United States and ultimately led to a network of former South Vietnamese military leaders who were operating within the United States and committed violence against people perceived to be pro-communist.

“Frontline” will broadcast a story about the investigation on Nov. 3, 2015.

ProPublica is an independent, nonprofit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest. “Frontline” has been an award-winning fixture of public television since 1983.
