In celebration of Sunshine Week and the free flow the information, Sari Feldman, CEO of Cuyahoga County Public Library and former president of the American Library Association, will present the James Madison Award to Sen. Jon Tester for his work promoting open access to government information and transparency. The James Madison Award, presented annually by the ALA, honors individuals or groups who have championed, protected and promoted public access to government information and the public’s right to know.

The award presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on “Accessing Information in the Trump Administration.” Hosted by the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) and the Newseum Institute, this discussion will offer practical advice for journalists, advocates and others who rely on access to government data for informing the public and holding the government accountable.
