Reading Law: The Interpretation of Legal Texts

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and Professor Bryan A. Garner will discuss their latest book, Reading Law: Interpretation of Legal Texts. The book examines the time-honored and sometimes conflicting principles for interpreting constitutional provisions, statutes, and contracts. Their lively discussion, which draws upon illustrations from a wide array of sources, reveals how the selection of interpretive principles affects the resolution of ambiguity in the law.

The conversation is held in conjunction with the Supreme Court Fellows Program Annual Events and is presented by the Supreme Court Fellows Alumni Association in cooperation with the Freedom Forum.
